Great News! Kaufman County has been approved and added to the Federal Disaster Declaration for Individual Assistance (IA). This will allow residents and homeowners to apply for FEMA assistance.
NOTE: If you have insurance, you should file a claim with your insurance company immediately. FEMA assistance cannot help with losses already covered by insurance.

Kaufman County Emergency Management is coordinating a resource center to provide assistance to those who were affected by the severe storm on May 28 th 2024, and need assistance.
The Resource Center (MARC) location: Kaufman Volunteer Fire Station, 7819 FM 1388 (S Houston St), Oak Grove, TX.

Monday 6/10/2024 – Friday 6/14/2024, 12 PM – 8 PM
Saturday 6/15/2024, 8AM – 5 PM
Sunday 6/16/2024, 12PM-5PM.

The Red Cross is providing cleanup kits, free of charge, to Kaufman County residence affected by the May 28th storm.

If you have experienced damage to your property, there a few steps you should take.
- Contact your insurance company for damage claims.
- Take photographs of all that is damaged.
- If you have already started cleaning up, take pictures anyway.
- Place your debris at the curb/road (but do not block the road).

- The objective of this survey is to help state and local emergency management officials across Texas identify and gain an understanding of damages that have occurred during recent natural disaster activity.
- Reporting damages to Emergency Management is a voluntary activity, is NOT a substitute for reporting damage to your insurance agency, and does not guarantee disaster relief assistance.
